First, let’s clarify a common misconception: you do not need one silo per material.
In practical production:
If several materials share similar physical properties (e.g., free-flowing powders) and do not appear in the same formula at the same time, they can share a single silo via recipe switching.
Independent silos or feeders are only required for materials that must be added to the same batch simultaneously.
Therefore, a more precise question is: What is the maximum number of independent material streams the system can handle at once?
The Sihyde automated batching system features a modular design, allowing the number of simultaneous independent material streams to be customized to your formula, from 2 streams to n+ streams.
For recipes with even more materials, we also support staged batching and sequential batching using multiple scales. While "simultaneous" becomes "sequential addition within a single batch," overall production efficiency remains unaffected.
In short: Just tell us which materials need to be batched together and in how many groups, and we’ll recommend the optimal number of silos and feeders — whether one silo per material or shared silos for multiple materials.
2. What Is the Maximum Throughput?
We answer this in two key scenarios:

Our batching scales offer standard ranges from 10 kg to 1000 kg.For larger batches (e.g., over 1 ton), we use cumulative weighing or parallel multi-scale batching, supporting total batch weights of several tons to tens of tons.
(2) Maximum Hourly Throughput (Production Capacity)
Throughput depends on feeding speed, weighing speed, and discharge speed. We have delivered systems with typical configurations that meet a wide range of capacity needs.
For capacities over 30 tons per hour, we provide custom solutions using high-flow screw feeders, belt feeders, and continuous batching — designs tailored to your material’s density and flow characteristics.
